The video “Introducing Seoul International School” provides an overview of the school and the benefits it offers to its students and their families. Michael Colaianni, the Head of the School, considers “togetherness” the school’s primary differentiator as it attempts to cultivate a sense of global citizenship through its Tigers’ values.
The school has three sections.
The elementary school, with children from 3 years old to 5th grade, focuses on instilling the joy of learning. Middle school, covering the 6th through 8th grade, asks students to experiment, choose some electives, and prepare for the challenges of high school. Finally, the High school, or grades 9 to 12, is academically focused but has programs in sports, music, Model UN, and other activities that reaffirm there is more to students’ lives than academics.
The approach works. As Irene De Shazo, the Director of Admissions, says, the graduates of Seoul International School attend some of the finest universities in the US, Europe, and Asia. In addition, the students enjoy the nurturing environment and love their teachers, friends, and international school, allowing them to study and learn in a comfortable environment.
